The hand rankings are completely reversed. The lowest hand wins instead of the highest. A High Card beats a Trail. This variation requires a completely different strategy — fold your good hands and bluff with bad ones!
Aces, Kings, 4s, and 7s are all jokers (wild cards). They can substitute for any card to make the best possible hand. This dramatically increases the frequency of strong hands like Trails and Pure Sequences.
Before the game starts, one or more cards are randomly chosen as jokers. Any player who holds a joker card can use it as any card they want, giving them a major advantage in forming strong hands.
The goal is to make a hand as close to 999 as possible using face values (Ace=1, face cards=0). The player closest to 999 wins. This completely changes how you evaluate cards and requires different mental math skills.
Some cards are dealt face-up (visible to all players) and some face-down (private). Players must form their best hand using a combination of their private and community cards. Similar to 7-Card Stud in Poker.
All Kings and the lowest card in your hand are wild cards. This creates very unpredictable hands since wild cards depend on what you're dealt. A player with a King can make almost any hand they want.
Players decide whether they are "In" or "Out" based on their cards. Only "In" players compete. This variant adds a pre-game decision layer — you choose your risk level before the main betting begins.
After the initial deal, players can discard one or more cards and draw replacements from the deck. This gives players a chance to improve weak hands and adds another strategic layer to the game.
Some cards are placed face-up in the centre of the table for all players to use. Each player can choose to use the community cards as part of their hand, combining them with their private cards for the best result.
The two lowest-ranked cards in your hand become wild cards. This means even a bad hand can be transformed into a powerful Trail or Pure Sequence, keeping all players engaged until the very end.
All players must remain blind for a set number of rounds. No one can look at their cards until a minimum number of betting rounds pass. This levels the playing field and makes psychology even more important.
A regional variant popular across Pakistan with slightly different betting structures. Boot amount is fixed, and sideshow rules are stricter. Commonly played at family gatherings during Eid celebrations.
